To file a complaint against a non-paying mortgage company contact the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions.  Here is a link to their website: http://azdfi.gov/ They attempt to resolve complaints within 30 days.

The Arizona Department of Financial Institutions Consumer Affairs department will review all complaints against licensed entities or allegations of unlicensed activity in a timely manner.  You can also check current lists of licensees who do business in Arizona.  Any entity on their list will be regulated by the Arizona Department of Financial Institutions.  To view current or past cases against an entity go to the "Final Orders" section of the website.  Perhaps a good place to rule out doing business with some entities.

First print out a complaint form and fill in completely all necessary information.  Then gather the following additional forms:

• A copy of the order to do the appraisal work
• A copy of the original appraisal
• Past Due Invoice
